Mayor

Mayor Jim Offerdahl has been dedicated to serving the Fosston community for over two decades. He was elected to the city council in 2000 and became mayor in 2006. He finds great fulfillment in working alongside the city’s employees and council members to support the community and help Fosston thrive.

Beyond his role as mayor, Jim has a passion for broadcasting and a deep appreciation for history, reflected in his collection of vintage microphones. His connection to radio began in 1972 when he started working at Fosston’s radio station KEHG, an experience that sparked a lifelong interest in communications. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and exploring new places.

Jim believes in making the most of every day and lives by the motto: “Live like there is no tomorrow. Enjoy life while you can.”
