Civic Center

Located at 215 East First Street, the Civic Center has a gymnasium, indoor pool and 2 public meeting rooms as well as kitchen facilities. The Civic Center was constructed in 1967 much in part to the late Mayor Arvid Clementson. It was and is dedicated to provide and serve the public in numerous capacities. 

The Fosston School District rents the facility during the school year for extra classroom space when needed and physical education and swimming classes.

The Civic Center operations are managed by Karen Graham, Aquatics & Recreation Director.  The Civic Center also employs a night time supervisor and 12 lifeguards and swimming instructors. 

The Civic Center is also the central hub to the summer recreation program and swimming lesson program during the summer months.   Recreation and swimming activities are run Monday through Thursday and include baseball, softball, swimming, golf, childrens theatre, art, robotics and numerous weekly activities such as croquet, badminton, floor hockey, basketball, soccer, volleyball, horse shoes, bocce ball and an occasional field trip to different points of interest.  The program also features a spectacular arts program throughout the summer with many different projects and activities.   The City also employs 11 swim instructors and 7 recreation coaches during the summer months.
