Golf Carts on City Streets

The City of Fosston allows motorized golf carts to be operated on city streets, as authorized by Title VII, Chapter 75 of the City Ordinances.

Eligibility

To operate a golf cart on city streets, individuals must:

• Be 18 years of age or older

• Meet all requirements outlined in Chapter 75 of Title VII

Permit Requirements

An annual permit fee of $25 is required. The following must be submitted along with the completed application:

• A signed certificate from a competent and experienced mechanic indicating the golf cart:

  • Is in good mechanical condition

  • Has rear-view mirrors, brakes, and a slow-moving vehicle emblem

  • Is safe for the transportation of passengers

• Proof of insurance
