Trash & Brush Pickup
Residential Trash Service
Weekly residential trash pickup is provided by the City of Fosston Public Works Department. Please place your City-provided blue trash can at the curb by 7:00 AM on your scheduled pickup day.
Tips to help pickup go smoothly:
- Set your blue trash can in a visible, easy-to-reach spot near the street.
- Leave a bit of space around the can so the truck arm can lift it safely.
- In winter, please clear a flat, shoveled spot at street level; placing cans on top of or behind snow berms makes them difficult to collect.
Large Trash Pickup – May Only
As part of Clean-Up Month, the City offers curbside large trash pickup for residents within city limits on Thursdays and Fridays throughout May.
Place your items at the curb in a clearly visible spot, and a city crew will pick them up within a few days of your request.

Brush Pickup (Summer Months)
The City offers brush pickup for residents within city limits during the summer months. Simply place your brush in a pile near the street or alley, and a city worker will remove it within a few business days.
